David Crosby was a prolifically complicated man, one whose legacy contains just as many seminal records as fertile tales of debauchery. He also, according to Melissa Etheridge, should be the focus of a Ouija-board Maury episode. In a new People interview, Etheridge said that Crosby, who was the sperm donor for her two children, served in the same role for several other couples in what we’re now calling the Croz Genetic Universe. “We’re still finding kids from David Crosby out in the world. My daughter’s like, ‘I have another half-sister,’” she explained. “He did not need to be a father. And that’s what really made it clear for me, was that he was willing to say, ‘Yeah, I was the biological father.’ And my kids call him bio dad, so he’s the biological father, but they didn’t need a relationship with him.” Etheridge added that Crosby was the “perfect” donor for her family because of this laissez faire ideology, and, presumably, because his sperm is a very, very, very fine sperm.
