On Independence Day, former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to challenge President Joe Biden to a second presidential debate.
Biden’s performance in the Atlanta debate has called into question the president’s cognitive ability, with one reporter asking White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if he suffered from Alzheimer’s.
Biden and his campaign team have acknowledged that he had a rough showing in the debate.
“I know I’m not a young man, to state the obvious,” Biden said at a North Carolina campaign rally the day after the debate. “I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth!”
The president blamed his recent foreign travels for the reason behind his fatigue and low energy on the debate stage. Trump looked to exploit some of Biden’s weaknesses with a debate format that would put few restrictions on the participants.
“I have the answer to the Crooked Joe Biden Incompetence Puzzle — Let’s do another Debate, but this time, no holds barred — An all on discussion, with just the two of us on stage, talking about the future of our Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The ratings were massive for the First Debate, record setting, in fact, but this one, because of the format, would blow everything away!”

A second debate is scheduled for Sept. 10 after both Trump and Biden are certified as their respective parties nominees.
“Let Joe explain why he wants Open Borders, with millions of people, and many violent criminals from parts unknown, pouring into our once great Nation, or why he wants Men Playing in Women’s Sports, or demand ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES within five years, or why he allowed INFLATION TO RUN RAMPANT, destroying the people of our Country, and so much more,” Trump wrote. “It would also, under great pressure, prove his ‘competence,’ or lack thereof. Likewise it would be yet another test for me. What a great evening it would be, just the two of us, one on one, in a good, old fashioned Debate, the way they used to be. ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE!!!”
