Looking for tickets to the Copa America final? Here are tips on how to avoid scams

Resale tickets to Sunday’s sold-out Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia are a hot commodity right now — the cheapest tickets are going for around $1,500 — and Miami-Dade Police have some tips on how to avoid getting scammed.

The county police department is warning buyers to beware of counterfeits ahead of the match at 8 p.m. Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Here’s what to know.

There are no printed tickets for the event. Beware of anyone trying to sell a paper ticket, even if it looks like the typical rectangular paper with a Ticketmaster logo.

Only buy tickets from official sources. Legitimate sites to buy tickets include TicketMaster, VividSeats, StubHub and Seat Geek.

The Miami-Dade Police Department has created an email address specifically for those who have an questions or concerns regarding the soccer match this Sunday: copamiami@mdpd.com. The department will be monitoring this email until 9 a.m. Monday.
