Very easy to use
UPDATE 12/14/23 - Returned this cooker for a crockpot express again. This never cooked rice properly, and no matter what we did, it stuck to the pan and left marks we couldn’t scrub off. I tried so many times to pressure cook the rice and it just wasn’t happening. For that reason we returned it. Maybe it will work good for others but it’s a huge disappointment as I really loved how easy it was to use (with the settings and clear display). I am docking a star for the issues with the pan and how food sticks no matter what you do.This pressure cooker is a replacement to my old express crockpot that stopped working. It’s much larger in size so I can make more food. I love how simple and easy it is to read the display and know what to do. I feel the speed is about right compared to others, the seal is great and I haven’t had any leakage. No burning or foul smells. It is an adjustment though as it cooks slightly different so I have to get some practice in with meals to get the timing and ingredients down right! This was NOT purchased via Vine, this was an out of pocket purchase. This is my honest review.

My wife is having so much fun using this to make different things. She said it is very easy to use, perfect size for our family of 3. So far she has made congee, soup, red bean sweet soup, green bean paste for shaved ice and she’s very happy with the results. Cook time for all these was cut in half and she would just need to put all ingredients in, close the lid and let it do its magic. She could use the cook time and the pressure release time to get so much more done without having to worry about it.

I had an insta-pot previously which lasted less than two years. It just stopped working. I attributed its failure to the fact that the outside would get quite warm when it was operating. Electronics lives are shortened with high environment temperatures. Its electronic brain just died. When researching other brands, it appeared that most used the same parts. After a year, this insta-pot was ordered because of the ratings. I was prepared to send it back if the exterior got unusually warm. It was cool to the touch so I expect that this one will last.

Ok, for some reason I didn’t know this was a glorified pressure cooker. I already have a pressure cooker and I’ve used it and was familiar with its one function.
The Instant Pot, I’ve learned, is so much more. I was amazed at the sauté function: it boiled a full pot of pigs feet and then pressure cooked them in 35 minutes. Rice: perfect every time. I’m interested in the sous vide and yoghurt function. I’m on a learning curve and having so much fun.
The best thing: My kitchen stays cool while it’s cooking.

I am real. I was not paid by anyone for this review.

It is only day 1 with the Duo Plus but so far I am very happy with it. I tried a Ninja Foodie but it tripped my circuit breaker every five minutes so I returned it. I also did not like the fact that the lid was attached and would be very hard to clean. The Ninja was extremely heavy! I did love the lit up display.

I have an old instant pot but I had to find my reading glasses and turn on bright lights to use the settings.
Enter the Duo Pot with it's brightly lit easy to read display! And a knob to turn instead of poking the screen a multitude of times to change a setting. It also has preset buttons. The lid is extremely easy to clean.

It came with a stainless inner pot instead of the usual teflon pot as in the Ninja Foodie. I don't use those so this saved me having to buy a stainless steel pot. After cooking beans, the teflon is stained and almost impossible to clean. I can use steel wool in the stainless pot and make it look new.

Another great feature that the Ninja does not have, is the 'button' to release the steam located away from the steam vent. Gotta love that! No more accidentally forgetting to turn the steam vent into the correct position.. that same switch locks in the correct place. The steam release was very quiet!

For frying I bought a $29 air fryer lid which you can find on Amazon ..1829 Carl Schmidt Sohn Air Fryer Lid For Pressure Cooker 6 Quart & 8 Quart With 8 Optional Presets And Led Touchscreen

I am assuming this new IP will last a long time since my old IP is still working fine after many years.
I recommend this especially for 'beginners' because of the step by step instructions on the screen as well as the steam 'button' which makes it more safe.
