‘A Garfield Christmas’
Oh no–Christmas is on a Monday this year! That means Garfield will hate it twice as much! That is, until he gets a lesson in the true meaning of Christmas from his frenemy Odie and Jon’s grandma. A Garfield Christmas first aired 30 years ago (happy anniversary!) and deserves to be every bit the seasonal staple that A Charlie Brown Christmas is. The songs are fantastic (“Can’t Wait ‘Til Christmas” is the best carol that involves the phrase “electrical contracting”), the vocal performances are dynamite (particularly Pat Carroll as the feisty-yet-sensitive Grandma), and the final moments endlessly heartwarming.
