‘Alias Grace’
Netflix‘s newest period drama follows the real-life story of Grace Marks, an Irish immigrant and housemaid who was imprisoned in 1843 for murdering her her employer. Grace doesn’t remember the murder, but the evidence pointing to her is damning enough that she’s convicted. A decade later, a doctor tries to help Grace recover her memories in an attempt to prove her innocence. Alias Grace is a riveting watch all on its own, but the fact that it’s based on a novel from Margaret Atwood, author of The Handmaid’s Tale, makes it a must-see series.
