‘American Auto’

Network sitcoms are having a moment. For everyone still mourning the cancellation of Superstore, wipe your tears and pick up the remote because American Auto is calling your name. Created by Superstore EP Justin Spitzer, American Auto packs all the laughs into just a half-hour window. SNL icon, Ana Gasteyer, plays CEO Katherine Hastings who, is now the CEO of Payne Motors…just one thing. Katherine hates cars. She doesn’t even have a driver’s license. It’s a great ensemble comedy that will somehow make you emotional about a fictional motor company in the midwest?? Just trust me. There are plenty of fresh faces and old ones- Jon Barinholtz plays a wonderfully obnoxious nepotism hire. American Auto is exactly what we need right now and is part of a larger movement that is revamping the beloved sitcom.
