‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown’
Three years after the tragic passing of Anthony Bourdain, his loss still feels tremendous. The chef and author, who paved the way for a new, adventurous and unfiltered form of travel and food television, made a lasting mark with series like No Reservations, A Cook’s Tour, and The Layover, but it was Parts Unknown, his excellent CNN show, that gave countless viewers access to places and cultures they couldn’t just stumble upon as everyday tourists. Bourdain’s blend of humor, warmth, and intelligence — plus his endless curiosity that helped him listen and understand new cultures and people — made Parts Unknown so special when it first premiered in 2013, and the show maintains its legacy for the beloved late chef years later.
