‘Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe’
Beavis And Butt-Head debuted on MTV way back in the spring of 1993, and I’m pleased to report that the duo hasn’t matured a lick in the last 30 years. (“Heh-heh, he said lick.”) In the new movie Beavis And Butt-Head Do The Universe, a Paramount+ exclusive, the two sex- and fire-obsessed teens get sent away to Space Camp at the Johnson Space Center in their home state of Texas — “it says ‘Johnson’,” Butt-Head astutely points out — where NASA engineers learn that they have an unusual aptitude for operating the Space Shuttle’s docking equipment (it involves repeatedly thrusting a large cylinder into a small hole, and is one of the movie’s best visual gags). The two get sent on a mission to space, which (of course) goes horribly awry. You won’t gain any IQ points watching this romp, but in a summer that seems to be teeming with bummer news, this movie is guaranteed to tickle the lizard part of your brain that still finds fart jokes hilarious.
