‘Crashing’
No, not the Pete Holmes HBO show — the britcom created by Fleabag and Killing Eve mastermind Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Though not as deeply traumatizing and insightful as some of her other work, Crashing still makes time for plenty of laughs and heartache in between a relatively straightforward premise. Basically, a bunch of folks live in an abandoned hospital in exchange for cheaper rent (okay, fine, not that straightforward), and interact, fall in love, fight and fall out of love. If you’re a fan of Waller-Bridge’s whip-smart writing — and why wouldn’t you be — you’ll find it on full display here, as well as what is almost a trial run for her disasterpiece Fleabag. And with six sitcom length episodes, it’s an easy binge in an afternoon. Just beware, because once you’re done you’ll be craving more.
