‘Cry-Baby’
One of John Waters’ most underrated films, Cry-Baby pays homage to the juvenile delinquents of the 1950s. Johnny Depp stars as Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker, a drape from the wrong side of the tracks, who falls in love with Allison Vernon-Williams (Amy Locane), a square who longs to be “bad.” With a rockin’ soundtrack, stylized costumes, incredible musical numbers, and strong supporting turns from Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, Polly Bergen, Susan Tyrrell and Iggy Pop (!), Cry-Baby is just pure campy goodness from the Pope of Trash.
