‘Pontypool’
Think you’ve seen everything the zombie genre to offer? Then you probably haven’t seen Pontypool. During shock jock Grant Mazzy’s (Stephen McHattie) show, a small Ontario radio station is accosted with reports of locals violently rioting and babbling incoherently. Soon, Grant, his assistant Laurel-Ann, and station manager Sydney receive a transmission in French warning them that a virus has infected certain English words that turns people into zombies. Wild, right? To stay alive, Grant and Sydney must figure out a way to communicate and maybe even save the world in the meantime. Clocking in at 90 minutes, this low-budget Canadian horror thriller will keep you silently on the edge of your seat.
