‘Prevenge’
All credit to writer/director/star Alice Lowe for this inventive film about a very pregnant woman who gets orders to kill seemingly from her unborn baby. Lowe makes for an unlikely serial killer, but she sells her character’s derangement without ever losing her as a flesh-and-blood woman with feelings and fears. It’s a fiercely committed performance, filmed all while Lowe was really pregnant. If you were a fan of movies like Sightseers or The Eyes of My Mother, give this one a go.
