‘Soundbreaking’

Let’s face it. You’re going to be hungover all day today. Might as well resist the urge to venture outside and, instead, draw the blinds and settle in for all eight episodes of the music documentary series Soundbreaking. This series originally debuted on PBS in November, but all of the episodes just arrived on Hulu last week. It’s a fascinating tour through the history of recorded music, with each episode focusing on a different aspect of the recording process: vocals, overdubs, electronics, what a “producer” really does, and more. ‘Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants’

We're in the middle of the worst sports week of the year. Basketball and hockey have been over for weeks, baseball is taking its annual extended All-Star break, and football — either college or pro — doesn't start back up in earnest for well over a month. Enter HBO and Netflix, both of whom know that football fans are positively STARVING for...

‘Reign’

Watching My Lady Jane renewed my desire to watch a long historical romance, and there is no better place to start than Reign (especially if you've already watched Outlander). The CW drama follows the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, and her new life in the French court where she is set to marry Prince Francis. After growing up in a convent for...

‘The Parent Trap’

I recently saw a trending post spotlighting the "Lindsay Lohan cinematic universe," which for many 2000s babies like myself, is considered formative filmography. Seeing pictures of Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis on the set of the confirmed Freaky Friday sequel certainly scratched a nostalgic itch, as well, and while I have already recommended the 2003 ...

‘Back to the Future’

To me, Back to the Future is a summer classic. The beloved sci-fi comedy follows small-town ‘80s teen Marty McFly as he is thrown back in time to the ‘50s after a time-traveling experiment by Doc Brown, his friend/mentor, goes wrong. In his quest to help Doc, Marty accidentally alters the course of history, so he must also ensure the teenage...

‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ Season 18

At long last, The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 has premiered on Bravo — and these ladies are hitting the ground running. The first episode alone addresses Shannon Beador's shocking DUI and her ongoing feud with on-again-off-again bestie Tamra Judge. Plus, Beador confronts her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend (and former RHOC star)...
