‘The Invisible Man’
Hopefully, you’re staying inside this week to help slow the spread of coronavirus. Universal made staying inside just a little easier by releasing some of its theatrical movies, including The Invisible Man, on VOD. For a $19.99, you can rent the movie for a 48-hour viewing window on most digital platforms, and I recommend going for it. Not only is this 2020 reboot of the 1933 classic horror film an entertaining, fun, and well-written horror movie, it also comes with an important message on domestic abuse. Elisabeth Moss stars as a woman trying to outrun her abusive husband, who has invented a way to become invisible and stalk her. It’s both a fun horror concept and a sobering metaphor for the way abusers haunt their victims long after they are gone.
