‘The Roosevelts: An Intimate History’
We have a lot of things to be thankful for in America, but amid the obvious (freedom, hot dogs, jazz, baseball) we shouldn’t overlook unparalleled documentarians, like, say, Ken Burns. The Brooklyn-born, New England-based filmmaker celebrates a birthday today (happy 64th!), and so why not celebrate with one of Burns’ towering series. And in these politically charged times, The Roosevelts, Burns’ 2014 examination of one of America’s most politically prominent families, seems especially apt. Settle in and prepare to be gently wowed in that particularly Burns-ian manner.
