‘The Weekly’
The Weekly is a brisk new documentary news series that takes The New York Times’s celebrated investigative journalism and brings it to life. Each episode is a half-hour long, and the episode takes all that time to introduce you to the real people who have been hurt by injustice, and the journalists who uncovered their stories. Future episodes will cover such topics as the corruption eating at the New York City taxi medallion system and the search for one single baby separated from his family at the border. Tonight’s premiere digs into a college admissions scandal that you didn’t read about in the gossip pages: the broken myth of T.M. Landry.
