While spooky szn is officially in the rearviewmirror, don’t let that dissuade you from moving The Wolf Of Snow Hollow to the top of your “Must Watch” queue. Jim Cummings wrote, directed, and starred in this 2020 feature about a small town community set on edge by a series of mysterious murders, murders so gruesome and animalistic that the prime suspect is … a werewolf? This movie is a curious mélange of moods, often veering between pulse-pounding terror and cringe-inducing laughter in the same scene. It’s a werewolf movie, but it’s also a story about alcoholism, father/son dynamics, professional rivalries, hipster tourism, toxic parenting, and that hopeless feeling that comes with being in way, way, WAY over your head. If you’re looking for a straight up horror movie, look elsewhere, but if you’re in the mood for something more offbeat and intriguing, you can’t go wrong with The Wolf Of Snow Hollow.
