‘Uptown Girls’
In Uptown Girls, the free-spirited daughter of a dead rock ‘n’ roll legend has her world turned upside down after learning that her father’s accountant has embezzled her inheritance away. Having not worked a day in her life, Molly Gunn (Brittany Murphy) finds a job as a nanny to Ray (Dakota Fanning), a hypochondriac, neat freak eight-year-old who has a penchant for saying things like, “Fundamentals are the building blocks of fun.” One won’t grow up, and the other has done it too fast. They have a lot to learn from each other, making for a hilarious and heartwarming story. Forget about the critics’ score and go stream this flick today — if not at least to see an adorable and sassy young-Dakota-Fanning.
