‘V For Vendetta’
Unlike the way-too-faithful production of Alan Moore’s Watchmen, V For Vendetta has a few aces up its sleeve. The biggest is that the movie was written by the Wachowskis, starred Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman, and delved deep into the source material while still honoring it. Over time — as usual with these sorts of things — the philosophy espoused by Weaving’s V has been twisted and turned rather than looked at as the warning it is, but if you check out the movie, you’ll see something as relevant today as it was in 2005.
