Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later

With the release of the Netflix original comedy series Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, the mythology now spans a feature film and two seasons of hilariously and intentionally overwrought comedy. The Wet Hot American Summer universe is almost as sprawling as Star Wars, TBH.

But like Star Wars or Game of ThronesWet Hot has a lot of characters. Seriously. A lot. In addition to the 30 (yes, 30!) returning cast members, the latest installment in the campy franchise adds another dozen newbies into the mix. These characters include new love interests, a stern government agent, a love child, a creepy old lady with secrets to spill and more.

With dozens of characters to keep track of, odds are you’ll need a who’s who about Wet Hot’s new crew. Below you’ll find mostly spoiler-free rundowns of the 12 new faces at Camp Firewood.

Claire

Portrayed By: Sarah Burns
Where You’ve Seen Her:
Big Little LiesHow to Get Away with MurderEnlightened
Who Is Claire? Claire’s a Camp Firewood counselor from back in the day, duh. Don’t you remember her? She was there with her boyfriend Mark back in the summer of ’81, and J.J. (Zak Orth) had a total crush on her. She was totally there and not retroactively inserted into WHAS continuity.

Mark

Portrayed By: Mark Feuerstein
Where You’ve Seen Him:
Royal PainsPrison Break, Nurse Jackie
Who Is Mark? Okay, you can’t be fooled. Both Mark and Claire are new characters in Ten Years Later, but they’re old camp buds to everyone else in the cast. And while Claire has a little will they/won’t they tension with J.J., Mark’s a primo yuppie horndog that cheats on Claire nonstop.

Garth MacArthur

Portrayed By: Jai Courtney
Where You’ve Seen Him:
Suicide SquadDivergentSpartacus: War of the Damned
Who Is Garth? Susie (Amy Poehler) has traded up when it comes to boyfriends, moving from the closeted Ben (Bradley Cooper/Adam Scott) on to movie superstar Garth MacArthur. Garth is most known for his roles in Espresso Compresso and London Fog, and now the hunky actor is starring in Susie’s film By the Grace of God and Ever After.

Brodfard Gilroy

Portrayed By: Rob Huebel
Where You’ve Seen Him:
Transparent, Childrens Hospital, The League
Who Is Brodfard? Speaking of moving on, Shari (Beth Dover) has traded in Neil (Joe Lo Truglio) for a snooty Columbia professor. Bye-bye Camp Firewood, hello dates at Italian operas! With his cool car and flashy clothes, Brodfard is every bit as insufferable as his name implies.

Renata Murphy

WHAS-Renata-Alyssa-Milano
Saeed Adyani / Netflix

Portrayed By: Alyssa Milano
Where You’ve Seen Her:
Charmed, Melrose Place, Who’s the Boss?
Who Is Renata? In order to chillax during their camp reunion Ben and McKinley (Michael Ian Black) hired a nanny–Renata–to watch over their daughter. What McKinley and Ben don’t know is that they’ve gotten themselves involved in a whole Hand That Rocks the Cradle thing because Renata isn’t as stable as her agency suggested.

Jeremy "Deegs" Deegenstein

Portrayed By: Skyler Gisondo
Where You’ve Seen Him:
Santa Clarita Diet, Vacation, Psych
Who Is Deegs? The only new camper we get to meet during Ten Years Later is Deegs, a too-cool bro that radiates a certain familiar slacker charisma. Yeah, he’s 1991’s version of Andy (Paul Rudd). This leads to a rivalry because, just like in Highlander, there can only be one!

Ms. Burkhart

WHAS-burkhart-anne-marie-johnson

Portrayed By: Anne-Marie Johnson
Where You’ve Seen Her:
That’s So Raven, JAG, In the Heat of the Night
Who Is Ms. Burkhart? President Ronald Reagan (Michael Showalter) is back in action in Ten Years Later (along with Bush and Clinton). Ms. Burkhart does Reagan’s dirty work, work that includes trying to buy Camp Firewood from Beth (Janeane Garofalo).

Ginny

Portrayed By: Maya Erskine
Where You’ve Seen Her:
Casual, Insecure, Man Seeking Woman
Who Is Ginny? In the ten years since that unforgettable (and, at times, deadly) summer at Camp Firewood, Coop (Showalter) has moved on from his crush on Katie (Marguerite Moreau) and gotten engaged to Ginny. There’s just one problem: Ginny doesn’t really get the magic of Camp Firewood, y’know?

Jenny

WHAS-jenny-ava-acres

Portrayed By: Ava Acres
Where You’ve Seen Her:
Handsome: A Netflix Mystery Movie, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, American Horror Story: Hotel
Who Is Jenny? Who is Jenny? Look at her! Isn’t it obvious? Okay–Jenny (yes, there’s both a Ginny and a Jenny in Ten Years Later) is Gail’s (Molly Shannon) daughter. And, considering the sleeveless tee and bandana, Jenny is obviously the daughter of Gene, the shellshocked camp chef played by Christopher Meloni.

Darla & Mikey

WHAS-mikey-darla
Photo: Netflix

Portrayed By: Kerry O’Malley and Dax Shepard
Where You’ve Seen Her:
The Last Tycoon, Annabelle, Shameless
Where You’ve Seen Him:
 Parenthood, Without a Paddle, Punk’d
Who Are Darla and Mikey? The mysterious Darla and Mikey, a suburban couple living with the elderly Vivian Larson, play a pivotal role in Lindsay’s (Elizabeth Banks) mission to uncover the connection between Ronald Reagan and Camp Firewood. Or do they?

Vivian Larson

WHAS-vivian-marlo-thomas

Portrayed By: Marlo Thomas
Where You’ve Seen Her:
Friends, Free to Be… You & Me, That Girl
Who Is Vivian? Television icon Marlo Thomas gets deep into character as the elderly (and also, at times, creepy) Vivian Larson. While Mikey and Darla want nothing to do with Linday’s investigation, it’s Vivian that wants to blow the whole conspiracy wide open! Her connection to this mystery, it turns out, goes all the way to the top. Or does it?
