13 Going on 30

Who’s more likable than Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo? Absolutely no one. Seriously. The pairing of these two in classic rom-com 13 Going on 30 is a match made in heaven. When 13-year-old Jenna wishes she was “30, flirty, and thriving” and wakes up to find herself exactly that way, she’s forced to learn an important lesson about life, love, and friendship – before it’s too late.

Scream

Halloween may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to shelve the horror. This iconic meta-horror flick sees Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and her friends become the target of a murderous rampage from someone seemingly copying the killer who murdered her mother. While she could easily go down in the fashion of many scream queens before her, Sidney (and Scream) proves to be more than meets the eye – and that’s exactly why it holds up as such a modern classic.

The Usual Suspects

Boasting an Academy Award-winning screenplay by Christopher McQuarrie, the neo-noir mystery film focuses on the sole survivor (Kevin Spacey) of a violent gun battle and the story of the events that preceded it that he tells to the police. It all begins when our five criminals meet at a police line-up and plan a revenge operation against the police, and the carnage that ensues leaves only one behind. Filled with shocking twists, turns, and eternally quotable lines, The Usual Suspects remains a modern classic – and will keep you asking “WHO IS KEYSER SOZE?!”
