Humankind faces a number of daunting challenges in order to attain planetary environmental sustainability. Organizations of all forms, including private firms, government agencies, academic institutions, and civil society actors, will play a central role in bringing about the needed transformations.
About the Sustainability Research Conference Series
The Stanford Initiative on Business and Environmental Sustainability Research Conference Series is hosted by Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
Participants of this conference discussed fundamental scholarship on organizations and their role in creating a sustainable future. This scholarship could also include research on knowledge and resources that organizations will need to meet the challenges posed by climate change. We invited paper submissions that drew from diverse academic disciplines and/or from interdisciplinary research teams.
