In 2008, Schwarzman donated $100 million to the New York Public library.
And today, the library officially unveiled the new, renovated building, now called the Stephen A. Schwarzman building.
Now, most of you who make a sizable donation would probably want to pose for a few pictures, shake a few hands, or get a few pats on the back or something, when the project you financed largely singlehandedly ($100 million of a $1 billion project in Schwarzman's case) is done.
But Steve Schwarzman is like, Oh, that $100 million? That was so 2 years ago.
If you look at the photo from this morning's ribbon cutting ceremony, two things should jump out at you.
1. Schwarzman isn't in the photo (because $100 million is NBD to a baller like Schwarzman, he does that like everyday.)
2. the New York Public Library calls it the "Steven A Schwarzman building." Schwarzman spells his first name with a "ph."
#2 might explain #1. Or this might.
