MJ is the man.
The gyro platter (tasty tasty lamb, rice, hummus, salad, and that delicious magical white sauce) was superior to any gyro I've had in years.
The drink selection is top notch. I've heard the coffee is great, but had a cold bottled antioxidant drink that was killer.
The music is just the right volume and gives the place a Mediterranean vibe. Plus, the second we walked in, I noticed the temperature was PERFECT. (Not too warm or cool, it was justttttt right.) It's a small factor in a restaurant, but really impressive (haha).
Can't wait to come back!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim-Thao H.New Orleans, LA289199546Mar 11, 2012
I was skeptical at first, but I've come to love this place! I've been coming here pretty often with a friend of mine to study since it's on the westbank and closer to the both of us. Arabica's offers Greek food, coffee, smoothies, desserts, and a quite environment to study or hang out if you choose. So far I've the drinks I've tried are the vanilla latte, chai latte, and iced chai latte. My girlfriend and I are obsessed with the iced chai latte! It's so good! Now on to the food. I've only had the liberty of trying the hummus and chicken shwarma. I was actually surprise by how good the food was! The hummus comes with jalapenos and banana peppers (banana peppers are one of my faves) so I was definitely excited. On the other hand, hummus is pretty hard to mess up. Now the chicken shwarma, I was veryyy surprised on how flavorful and delicious it was! A very pleasant surprise indeed! Since I can't eat desserts because of lent, I can't tell you about it, but my friend is in love with the cheesecake! She said it's creamy and delish, so I can't wait to try it after these 40 days are up!
The place is never packed, which makes it a great place to study. They also have comfy booths for those planning on staying for hours on end to study. This is the main reason I'd rather this place over other coffee shops and whatnot. But I must say, if I keep coming here it's going to eat up all of my money!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Julia W.Gretna, LA118193145Oct 13, 2015
Cool little place for a quick casual lunch or dinner. They have a lot of options for hookah as well. Since it stays open late, it is not a bad place to study either. There are outside and inside seating options.
I like their Shwarma and Gyro platter. The frozen mango mint drink was really yummy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marielle S.New Orleans, LA20022997241Jan 14, 2011First to Review
I don't know. On a scale of "Sucky" to "Awesome", I think that I would rate this place a solid "Meh".
First, let me start by saying that I'm not a HUGE fan of Greek food and gyros, so if you are, you may be a better judge then me.
This place pegs itself as a coffee shop that also serves food. I went and I got some pita and hummus as an app and a chicken gyro as my dinner. It was ok. Nothing special. The hummus wasn't bad, but it's hard to screw that stuff up. I would try it again, only because I like to try a place twice before I declare that I hate it. Decent enough if you are on the Westbank and want a gyro. If you have the time, just head over to Byblos.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Christina S.New Orleans, LA464Jul 7, 2015
I've been coming here for years and have finally decided to write a review. I've tried quite a few things here, and I have no complaints about the food. My favorite is the hummus and filet mignon kabob plate. I don't know what they season the meat with, but it is absolutely tasty.
The only reason this place isn't 5 stars is that it often takes too long to get your food. I will call ahead, be quoted a time and wait past the quoted time, walk in and still have to wait for my food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim-Mi V.Harvey, LA77955Aug 17, 2013
I love going to Arabica's. It's not your average coffee shop. They offer schwarmas, gyros, salads, hummus, hookah, and more! I usually get their hazelnut latte, which helps me get through long nights of studying. Their staff is friendly and the customer service is great. It's a good place to study on the West Bank if you have earphones (it can get pretty loud in there).
If you're having trouble choosing between chicken and beef, go with chicken!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mimi D.Gretna, LA54191Feb 2, 2011
Yum! As I sit here and satisfyingly slurp the strawberry smoothie I just got from here, I will tell you that it is a real fruit blended smoothie! They blend it to where there are only a few little pieces of the fruit left in the smoothie for you to kind of chew on! I have also tried their caramel creme frappe....thats very delicious as well!! They charge $3.95 and you get a bigg ole cup!!
As for the food, I've tried the gyro, chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, and the beef gyro. So far everything has been awesome every time I come there!! The only bad thing I can probably say about this place is that it smells weird in there and if you stay long enough the smell will linger with you all day!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Connie C.Baton Rouge, LA8919995Jan 1, 2016
Love coming here whenever I get the chance, especially on a summer night. Sit outside with friends, enjoy a good hookah, and have some delicious Arabic food. Can't get enough of that gyro platter!!!! *drool*

The best Gyros in New Orleans! It's cozy cafe and the service is excellent! The food is delicious and moderately priced.

Big fan of their hummas and their rice (love the olive oil they use). Both the Chicken Shawarma and Steak Shwarma pita sandwiches are fantastic at a good price. The only thing keeping this from being a 5 stars for me is that they do not always remove the tendon/fat from the chicken/steak so there is always a bite that gets a little chewy. The hamburger combo is also better than what you would at most fastfood joints and priced better. Tahini sauce and Mediterranean salad is great. Also had the Chicken Ismanean (Sp?) and kabob sandwiches and all of them were very good. Definitely recommend for the food and good prices.
They also have hookah if you are into it!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
