Marielle’s 4-star review:
I'm gonna start by saying that Cowbell has beer now, and will have liquor soon, because they just got their license. Those of you of were all up in arms about your lack of booze, can relax. I swear, it was mentioned in so many reviews of this place!
Anyway, after a night of driving around, and finding that every place had a 2 hour (or more) wait, we decided to give Cowbell a try. The first thing I noticed was the interesting decor. It's set up in a "family" style kind of way, long tables and chairs. Kinda like Bud's Broiler.
As an app, a girl we were with ordered the mac and cheese, so that we could all try it. Let me tell you, it was delicious. It was made with a white cheese and it was nice and creamy. We all agreed that it was fantastic.
I decided to order a burger with cheddar cheese, which comes with hand cut fries. I was really wishing that I could sub the fries out for some of that mac and cheese, but alas, substitutions aren't allowed. The burger was delicious and cooked to "medium" perfection, just the way I like it. Usually, I order a burger "medium" and just assume that I will get it "medium well". I've learned to live with this. Here, the burger was perfect and exactly how I wanted it. I was impressed.
At the end of the meal, we decided to try out the two desserts they have: the "chocolate city" and the apple pie. Both were fantastic, but the pie is probably the best I have ever had in a restaurant.
I would definitely go back, probably for lunch. The place wasn't crowded at all, which was great.
