Only 3 stars?? What?! I love this place!

Whenever I go I always get the Oyster platter that comes with fries and hush puppies and cole slaw. The inside of the place has a "nautical" theme, so you are made to feel like you are eating in a fisherman's cabin.

They have an oyster bar, so if you are in the mood for raw oysters this is a great place to go. This is also a good place for all kinds of seafood. I have never had anything here that I didn't really enjoy.

The food here tends to be a little on the spicy side, so if you are a person who likes their food on the bland side, you might want to avoid this one.

The restaurant is a little on the expensive side, at least for the Westbank, so if you are on a budget you may want to go somewhere else.

Alright ya'll. Im el cheapo right now when it comes to spending my money so I try to find ways to satisfy my gastronomic cravings without breaking the bank. In these times my fellow yelpers Im sure some of you may understand.

Last night I finally got the chance to eat some of dem oysters on the Westbank at Bourdreaux's on Lapalco. You cannot miss this place because the sign is bright neon blue right there next to Ryan's.

Ive been craving for some oysters and on Tuesday nights ya'll it is 25 cent raw oysters and 50 cents charbroiled. Do the math yo--that's $3.00 for a dozen that I didnt have to shuck.

But be ready for a good wait if you come on Tuesday because oyster season is in full effect and there are people who come in large parties just waiting for a table just like you my friend so be warned.

I ordered the crawfish cake for an app, it was comparable to some of the high end restaurants in the downtown area, about 10 bucks, but you get a good amount of tails and the sauce is creamyyyyyy with some french bread to smother it with some of dat sauce. Oohwee!!

If you order the super seafood sampler plate it's good enough to share with the rest of the table. We had 11 people in our party so we were able to share everything. Hush puppies, crab crakes, fries, catfish, jumbo shrimp, crawfish tails---i tell ya--it was loaded with everything HOWEVER it lack seasoning you would expect on a New Orleans seafood platter.

I think we had a hit and miss night with the charbroiled oysters because the first batch was good with toppings of butter and parmesan cheese but I noticed that it lacked taste. Like blah!

Full menu with drinks, cocktails, beer, seafood, steak -- it's all on the menu.

Oh well cant complain because my stomach was full. Next week I aim on being there and Im sticking straight with the raw oysters--Im gonna make sure I order 3 dozens for myself. Dont touch mines!!!!!

Cash and credit. Family friendly but be ready for that wait on Tuesday if you coming for the erster specials. The parking lot is weird, The parking lots gets full fast so you may need to park in the back of the place. Be careful.

First, three stars isn't a bad review - its average. Here's why:

Menu - not bad at all, but if some one in your group does not want seafood, its very limited options. One chicken item and a couple steaks. On the upside, they advertised a 99 cents kids menu.

Food - the crab and shrimp soup was really good. I had stuffed catfish and it wasn't as great as I'd hoped. The catfish was not really tender and, in addition to the slab of butter perched atop my catfish, the whole filet was just really really greasy. The fish must have been the fat kid in it's school. The fries had sea salt which would have been great, had they been hot.

Service - I sat at the bar and the bartender was great, the best thing about the place.

This review will be about our last 3 visits/experiences here.

On that same note, I truly hate to rate a local restaurant badly, as the last thing we need is more local businesses to close down (ala Hurricanes Katrina & Rita), but when your business screws up this many times, it's kind of hard not to rate them badly. Plus, honesty is ALWAYS the best policy.

My family and I have been here a few dozen times, both before and after they changed names/ownership, so I decided to come and post about our latest experience there, which is also almost the same as my previous 2 experiences here... :-/

As someone else stated, it used to be the Roadhouse Grill, but they closed down and Boudreaux's took over. With the change of ownership came a change of decor (somewhat), some changes on the menu, and changes in the wait staff.

      FOOD?
Well, the menu is pretty big and they have a lot of options. Unfortunately, they seem incapable of doing any type of special order. By this, I mean to leave something off, or to exchange one type of food item for another, either to completely leave it off or to substitute another item that's the same value - whereas there is NO price difference. Since I have food allergies, I can't have certain things. I spoke with the waitress about it, and she wrote it down, and then she informed the cooks when she placed our order with the kitchen. Clearly the kitchen staff aren't smart enough to simply leave something OFF of a order/plate. This is now the 3rd time this has happened here. If a restaurant can't handle a simple matter of leaving a certain food item off of the damn order, then that clearly shows you how little they care for their customers. I'm not sure I'll go back again since this is now the 3rd time that I've had to send my food back, and by the time I actually received my order properly, everyone else in our party was already done eating and ready to leave...

      QUALITY?
1st Trip - Food arrived cold and wrong. Sent it back. 20 minutes later, finally got my order and it was still wrong. Sent it back yet again, family finished eating, had them remove it from our bill, paid the corrected bill and we left. I then stopped and picked up something to eat from a different restaurant.
2nd Trip - Food arrived wrong. Sent it back. 25 minutes later, food arrived correct, but cold.
3rd Trip - Food arrived cold and wrong. Sent it back. Came back wrong again. Sent it back yet again. Almost 30 minutes later, entire family (wife, kids, in-laws) are already done eating and my food still hasn't shown up. Told them to just take it off the damn bill so we could leave. Suddenly my food arrives, and it's boiling hot but STILL WRONG! Informed the waitress that this was completely unacceptable. She took it off the bill, we paid and left. Made sure to let the manager know that this was the 3rd time this has happened here to me. Acted like he could care less.

      TASTE?
      See above.

      LOCATION?
Right on Lapalco next to Ryan's.

      PARKING?
They have their own parking lot, so lots of parking is available.

      SERVICE?
While the 3 different waitresses we had were all good and did their job, the kitchen staff is clearly a joke and lacks any form of common sense.

      CLEANLINESS?
The tables and floors weren't that clean on all 3 visits, though the restrooms were pretty clean.

      SAFETY?
It's in quiet part of town, so it seems pretty safe.

      ATMOSPHERE?
They are family friendly, and you would think that it would stay busy - but after seeing how they kept screwing up my order over and over, I can see why it's not as busy as it could be.

      PRICES?
Fairly decent on some items, a little pricey on others. Overall it's a good value, but if you're like me and have any type of food allergies or want/need to have a special order done - my best advice is to just eat somewhere else.

      - - - -

Note to Management: Fire your damn kitchen staff and find and hire people who actually know HOW to do their jobs.

If your kitchen staff can't figure out a way to simply leave an item off of an order, then they must be a "Special" kind of stupid...

i have been wanting to go to Boudreaux's for quite some time now. i finially get to go and it was nothing but a big disapointment.
my wife and I hardley go out to eat and this is why.

i orderd the crawfish cakes and she ordered the blackend alagator. they were fine for apptizers.
for the main course she had stuffed shrimp and i had the hambergerstake smothered in onion and mushrooms,

I can always tell if a resraurant is good by their habergerstakes.
i order it med well and i got it well done, maybe too well done.
the top of it was burnt and the meat was dry.
so i asked them if the can get me another on and cook it med rare.

my wifes stuffed shrimp was over cooked to where the shrimp pealings were into the meat of the shrimp...

      she never complained about it..

by the time i got my hambergerstake back my wife was done eating.

i was a little tired of waiting so i asked for the check.
we got the check and it was $52 and some change.

so we gave them our debit card and a coupon we had gotton from the Gretna fest witch was $5.00 off of any purchase of $15 or more.

so when we get the bill back to sign it, we were now charged $59. and some change.

looking at the bill they charged me for 2 hambergerstakes and - the coupon.
we ask the to re check that and the manager is such a jerk he did not even come of to our table to apologise to us for the hassel and the bad hamberger stake.

we only have one good thing to say about this place is that this little waiter
in training named Ryan, is the only one who seemed sensere about our bad experance so we gave him the tip an not our waitress.
Ryan was not even the person asigned to these tables and he picked up our waitress slack.

I will never eat there again!!!!

The best thing here was the oyster special. 25 cents for a raw one and 50 cents for a charboiled one. Sadly, the oyster special on Tuesdays aren't here anymore. :(

Had lunch there last week. November 18th, 2011 to be exact. Didn't acutally get to eat in the restaurant. Our food took the ENTIRE hour to reach our table. Did get to sample the char oysters-delicious...but had to get everything else to go because of time constraints. Talked with the manager and he seemed to careless about our lack of dinning experience at the establishment. My oder was correct when I finally got a chance to eat it...the waitress was at the mercy of the kitchen and I felt sorry for her. In town frequently will not return to this place.

I just ate from this place on tuesday since it was 50cents raw oysters & 75 cents charbroiled oyster.By far the best place I ever ate for oysters!!!It's like an orgasm in your mouth! The people here are friendly.I ordered 2 dozen charbroiled for ONLY 18 dollars that's not bad,But one of the plates had some really small oysters it didn't even look like there were any,but luckily my server was nice enough to bring it back and get me a whole NEW plate of oysters no charge.I love it here I'm going back next tuesday!:)
