Quick and tasty bites with an amazing patio!

This was our first stop in New Orleans and we were craving something quick and easy, this was just the place.

The creole cuban sandwich is the perfect combination of creole seasoning with a traditional Cuban. Extremely fun twist on the classic. Would get this again!

The shrimp salad roll was very refreshing and overall just *fresh*. The temp was hovering in the low 80s so it was the perfect dish on a warmer day. Also was good balance of flavors, not too fishy!

The patio/outdoor space is amazing. I kept looking out at it and dreaming what type of events I would host!

Friendly & quick service, would visit again!

Definitely the place for your next catering order. Many happy people at our event because of the great food. The service is lovely, and the staff easy and accommodating.

The Commissary is a unique place which houses a bar, local market, and dining where you have views into the kitchen. Visited on a day where it was cold out and not really packed.

They have a nice patio which connected to that shared with another business. Upon arrival there was someone who greeted me, instructed me to
Grab a menu and order and feel free to seat myself.

An very small happy hour menu is offered - worth trying if your interested in experience drinks at a reduced price.

Now the food. The everyrhing wings - let's just say chefs kiss. Flavorful and arrived hot. Portion size great for an appetizer. I'll def be back for more.

I had a Turkey sandwich with a cream cheese spread. I opted for the cream cheese on the side - my mistake. I could have had it placed directly in my sandwich, it was amazing.

The gentleman who served me were very pleasant and overall I felt welcomed. I'm looking forward to attending again for brunch to experience the rest of what the menu has to offer.

I HOPE DICKIE BRENNAN DOESN'T MESS UP PASCAL'S LIKE THIS

      A. Food: 1) Well, the $4 salad was a good price value. 2) but the duck poppers were very dry - the jalapeño cream cheese filling shriveled up, and they're very pricey at $14 for 5 poppers. 3) The $10.50 Smash Burger was the real disappointment, sere with maybe a dollop of sauce (see pic).

BEEF QUALITY CAVEAT: They didn't ask me how I wanted my meat cooked which is usually a sign that a restaurant doesn't have confidence in the quality of their "rare" meat.

      B. Atmosphere: pretty delightful. The inside is large and squeaky clean. There is also a great outdoor area.

TIPPING CAVEAT: this is one of those irritating counter-serve restaurants with auto-tipping options of only 25%/20%/18% - kinda disrespectful to wait staff at full service restaurants where tipping customarily begins at only 15%.

I wonder how the harried DB's Palace or Steakhouse servers feel about this...

Where do I start.... I am still sitting here just going "Oh my"....the first indication that this was going to be a wonderful experience is when my Uber Eats driver commented about how good it smelled. It smelled good and tasted even better. The fried Des Allemand's catfish melted in my mouth, the shrimp were so light and fluffy. The black bean and corn salad had me wanting a larger portion. The Mirliton slaw made me want to never eat coleslaw again. Only Mirliton slaw should exist. The cornbread tasted like sweet honey. You have got to try this one.

Fried Des Allemands catfish, Gulf shrimp, Mirliton slaw, Black bean and corn salad, honey butter cornbread and Remoulade sauce.

Okay, this place legitimately saved my life...okay, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's hella good. Had a few drinks at Urban South Brewery, and boy did the heat get to me. We came here for something besides a smash burger, and dayum do I recommend it. The pimento cheese dip was amazing--don't sleep on those saltines, gurl. The shrimp salad roll was on bread that I will dream about when I go home, and the Creole Cuban was one of the top sandwiches my man friend has ever had (and he knows his way around a sandwich). Service was great, and it's a nice little joint. Definitely stop in!

We had a quick lunch at the Commissary today. I had the Ceasar Salad and is was great. Quality ingredients and very tasty. It is a commissary in the truest sense of the word. No table service, but everyone was very friendly. Thera is a cool little section with unique food items. I recommend it!

Dickie Brennan & Company The Commissary is a market, kitchen and bar. Dickie Brennan's The Commissary is located in New Orleans Lower Garden District neighborhood and their market carries appetizers, soups, dips, butcher meats, desserts and family meals. The kitchen has salads, sandwiches, shared plates and sides. The bar has seasonal cocktails, wine and beer. So far I've only eaten the kitchen's burger, brussels sprouts and chocolate chip cookie which were good. If you are looking for fun places to eat and drink in New Orleans Dickie Brennan's The Commissary is an interesting spot to explore along with being right next to the locally brewed sake at their neighbor The Wetlands Sake brewery.

Overall this a great spot to grab a meal then do some shopping for your future meals you will prepare at home along with enjoying some drinks here and next door at the sake brewery.

[Note: This review applies to Yelpers with availability of an oven, not just a microwave.] I love The Commissary. I love that it is a prep kitchen supporting several of Brennen's restaurants ... not a Ghost kitchen (a remote space/kitchen rented by a restaurant to handle delivery and takeout orders). The Commissary preps the onions, carrots, green peppers, peals shrimp, readies the Gumbo, all the multitude of prep items, saving the restaurants time, and space in their limited kitchens. A by-product of this operation is that remaining products not sent to the restaurants is cooked up on site, and available as fresh or frozen prepared dishes ... restaurant quality dishes ... in The Commissary's small market. At a very affordable price. There is also a full bar, a lunch counter, and in- and out-side seating available. It is the prepared meals I am addressing ... I have not had the pleasure of dining onsite, that will have to wait until my next trip. I have tried this week the Vegetarian Lasagna, the Meat Lasagna, Chacon Enchiladas, Eggplant Parmesan, Cauliflower Soup, and the English Muffins. [Do not miss the English Muffins. Ask for them!] This is a short list of what delights are available, and I am sure they will change according to the season (I cannot wait for Crawdad season (February through May)). All dishes included clear cooking or heating instructions, and an ingredient list. I felt that these dishes elevated ... really elevated ... our dining in at home this trip, with a variety of restaurant quality dishes, and at much a more affordable price. The Commissary prepared dishes - Five Stars.
