    99% of professionals and entrepreneurs don’t use personal branding to grow their earnings. If you do, you’ll have an instant advantage. Here are 8 simple strategies to get started: 1. Pick an outcome What do you want? If you don’t know where you’re headed, you’ll never make it anywhere useful. Choose a specific outcome that you’re looking for. Common ones are jobs, clients, and customers. 2. Pick an audience Who do you need to get that outcome? You can’t do it alone. Identify people who will get you there. If you want clients, these are your ideal clients. If you want jobs, these are managers and recruiters. 3. Go to your audience Where does your audience hang out online? That’s where you need to become known and trusted. Common ones are LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook groups and LinkedIn groups 4. Be valuable in replies In most communities, people either make public posts, or they post like they would in a forum. Either way, be there to deliver value in their replies. Or, just be friendly and maybe a bit funny. 5. Be valuable in posts Just replying isn’t ideal. You also want to be one of those people posting. That gets you more exposure. Figure out what your audience needs, and give it to them. Insights and useful info usually do the trick. 6. Be valuable in DMs Once you’ve interacted with someone in replies for a while, it’s time to take that relationship further. Reach out to them with a compliment and/or some free way to help them out. Avoid selling right away. 7. Sell strategically Leading with value is great. Never selling isn’t. You need to grow awareness and desire for your offer. Do so strategically by mentioning it in your posts, sharing wins, and occasionally straight-pitching it 8. Stay consistent None of this works if you do it for three weeks and then give up. It’s a career-long game, not a quick one. Put this into your schedule every day or weekday. Devote 30-60 minutes to do.     8 harsh truths that’ll help you build a better career: 1. If you feel you’re underpaid, look in the mirror. Your pay is determined by the value you deliver, how well you negotiate, and the options you have. If your pay is too low, identify the issue and address it. 2. You can be top talent and still get passed over for jobs and promotions. There’s more to success than just your work. Build your network and soft skills to open more doors. 3. If you make your boss’s life harder, you’ll struggle to build a career. The good news is the opposite is also true. Make your boss’s life easier, and you should be rewarded. 4. Specialisation makes you good money. Become elite at one thing, then add more skills to your toolkit to thrive in complex roles. 5. If you gossip, it’ll come back to bite you. Most people don’t get away with badmouthing their colleagues for long. Avoid this problem by not saying anything in the first place. 6. Complaining is toxic. It bothers those around you and makes you complacent because you’re talking instead of acting. Don’t do it. Look for solutions. 7. You will most likely change jobs. You might even change careers. The idea of sticking with one company for 30 years sounds great, but statistics say you probably won’t. Make peace with moving around a bit. 8. It’s going to take longer than you think. Career success often takes 10-30 years and involves a lot of hard work and disappointment.     The key to attracting better business? My trusted formula - Persistence and effort. When I aim to work with a specific client: I devote my time to getting their attention. I read everything about them. Focus my social interactions their way. Offer free advice. Demonstrate my value. Send gifts. Buy lots of coffee. Keep calling. I put in the hard work. Remain patient, and, importantly, avoid being creepy. I let them know I’m dedicated and believe we can achieve great things together. Persistence pays off, and eventually, they do business with me.
