Ganu Yoshida is the CEO of Tagruato Corporation who is mentioned numerous times on the Tagruato website, and is also named on the Slusho! website's history page. Ganu is the son of Noriko Yoshida, and the cousin of Danno Jo.

Biography[]

Ganu Yoshida was a brilliant young engineer participating in off-shore drilling activities when he became involved with Tagruato in 1989.[1] Recognizing that Tagruato's predecessor firm, 力の手 (Hand of Power) had fallen on hard times, Ganu and his investors took over the company and removed the previous Board of Directors. They renamed 力の手 to Tagruato, after its initial founder, and began drilling for petroleum underwater.[1] Since then, in the position of CEO, Ganu has helped Tagruato to become a top Japanese company, boasting skyrocketing sales of its Slusho! product, extremely satisfied employees and rising stock prices.

Yoshida was responsible for overseeing the development of the Hatsui satellite and Chuai Station.

Following the destruction of Chuai Station, Yoshida delivered an open letter to his employees concerning on the station's destruction in which he accused T.I.D.O. Wave for being responsible and working to contain the damage. Furthermore, he opened the Chuai Station Funds, which raised 300 million yen for the families of Chuai victims.[2]

On January 15, 2008, Yoshida departed from Japan for a four-day business trip to New York City to meet with CEO Glen Warner, owner of BevVo, a privatized water manufacturer, to discuss Warner's plans of distributing Slusho! through pre-established public waterways.[3] On January 18, he was attacked by protesters belonging to T.I.D.O. Wave while leaving a restaurant in Manhattan. The protesters were said to have restrained Yoshida and poured an unidentified liquid over his head before Yoshida fought back.[4] Due to the attack, Yoshida was forced to extend his stay in New York.[4]

Cloverfield[]

While he does not make an appearance in the movie, the Blu-Ray Notations states that Yoshida was reportedly on Manhattan at the beginning of the CLOVERFIELD events but was seemingly evacuated early on. His current whereabouts, according to Japan's National Police Agency, are unknown.[5] He is classified as a person of "special interest" by the United States Department of Defense for his and his company's connection to the CLOVERFIELD events.[5]
