Internships

There are multiple internship opportunities in offices of Congressman Byron Donalds. These internships are unpaid, but can be used for college-credit through your college or university. You don’t have to be a college student for this great way to gain experience for your resume and for yourself. Our internships are in-person and do not have remote options available. Internship location options are in the district at our Cape Coral or Naples offices or in D.C. on Capitol Hill.

Washington, DC

In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when it is not.

In Washington, DC, intern responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office.

District

In the District offices, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. Hours are flexible to accommodate student schedules. Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Hours are flexible to accommodate student schedules. District interns may be asked to do a variety of things including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, going through correspondences from constituents, assisting with caseworkers with working alongside with federal agencies, and attending district events.
