Visibility map question

Hi wikipedians, I don't understand? The visibility map noted that the lunar eclipse is not visible in North America. I am able to see the lunar eclipse in southern California, U.S. It was orange like a pumpkin. SWP13 (talk) 04:17, 29 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@SWP13: Perhaps it was colored due to atmospheric conditions. Sources confirm it was not visible in the US. Try asking at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Science. Brandmeistertalk 11:08, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
