Alec Musser, All My Children and Grown Ups actor, dies at 50

Adam Sandler paid tribute to Musser, who also appeared in the final season of "Desperate Housewives."

Alec Musser, the actor best known for his role as Del Henry on All My Children and his brief but memorable appearance in the movie Grown Ups, has died at 50.

Musser’s fiancée, Paige Press, announced the news Saturday evening in a series of Instagram story posts. "RIP to the love of my life," she wrote, sharing several photos of the couple together. "I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken."

In another story slide, she wrote, "Today is the worst day of my life. We were so happy.” She addressed Musser directly in another post, writing, "You were the best fiancée I could of [sic] ever asked for."

Musser passed away Friday at his home in Del Mar, Calif, Press told TMZ, which first confirmed the news. No cause of death has been disclosed.

Born April 11, 1973, Musser starred on All My Children after winning the SOAPnet reality TV contest I Wanna Be a Soap Star. He made his debut in 2005, taking over the role of Del Henry from Winsor Harmon. For two seasons, Musser played the illegitimate son of Seabone Hunkle (Steve Kanaly), before exiting the show in 2007.

Musser was also remembered for his appearance in the Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups, in which he was billed as Water Park Stud. In one scene, Musser’s nameless character attracts the attention of a group of wives (played by Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph, and Joyce Van Patten) from afar before hilariously quashing their attraction to him with his high-pitched voice when he approaches. Afterwards, Rudolph’s character Deanne jokes, “Everything was on steroids except for his voice.”

Sandler, who co-wrote the movie, was among those who paid tribute to Musser, sharing an Instagram post calling him “a true great sweetheart of a person.”

“I loved this guy,” Sandler wrote alongside a photo of Musser in his memorable scene in the film. “Cannot believe he is gone. Such a wonderful, funny good man. Thinking of Alec Musser and his family and sending all my love.”

Musser also had parts in the sitcom Rita Rocks and the movie Road to the Altar. His last role was in 2011, as Friedrich in the final season of Desperate Housewives. Outside of his acting career, Musser was a fitness model who appeared in Men’s Health and Exercise Health and modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch.
