TCA roundup 2011: 'Entourage' flick is a go; Rosie is a hit

Highlights from this year's Television Critics Association press tour

The Television Critics Association press tour kicked off July 26 in L.A. Some highlights: During HBO’s July 28 press day, Entourage creator Doug Ellin said a movie based on the series will happen, it’s just ”a question of when.”… Rosie O’Donnell wooed the crowd at the OWN panel July 29, saying her new talk show will cover current events and will feature only one celebrity guest per episode…. On Aug. 1, NBC Entertainment chief Robert Greenblatt defended The Playboy Club, which already has the Parents Television Council hot and bothered. ”It’s a fun soap with a crime element,” he said. ”What it has going for it is a recognizable brand that’s automatically going to draw attention to it, good or bad.”
