Odd couples don’t come much odder than big, blue, furry Sulley and little, round, green Mike, and in this prequel to 2001’s Monsters, Inc. — set during the monsters’ college years — we’ll learn how the mismatched duo (voiced by John Goodman and Billy Crystal) went from frenemies to friends. ”We really show off their differences,” says producer Kori Rae. ”Mike is the go-get-’em, anything-is-possible, blue-skies-all-the-time kind of guy. He’s the superhard worker. And Sulley is just different in the fact that he’s a great scarer. Mike has to work for things, and Sulley is just naturally talented.” So expect Monsters University to be a case of the jock versus the square — or, in this case, the sphere.
