Now that’s a Halloween costume.

NBC’s sophisticated, slick, and often quite sick Hannibal will return in 2014 to serve a second course of horror and human hors d’oeuvres. To get fans psyched for the further adventures of the titular frightful foodie (Mads Mikkelsen) and tormented FBI profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy), Hannibal mastermind Bryan Fuller offers the image above to get you in the right headspace.

Explains the exec producer, who designed this poster-worthy key art in collaboration with the show’s f/x team at RocketScience: “After a horrifying descent into madness in season 1, this image ironically represents the perspective of a scrappier, clearer-minded Will Graham in season 2. The scales have fallen from his eyes and he finally sees Hannibal Lecter for the monster he is.”

Hannibal will return early next year with a 13-episode season that begins with an outing entitled “Kaiseki.”

Fannibals, start your salivating.
