Casting Net: 'Kings of Summer' star Nick Robinson headed for 'Jurassic World'

• The Kings of Summer breakout actor Nick Robinson is currently in talks to join the cast of Universal’s Jurassic World. Robinson, who also stars on ABC Family’s Melissa & Joey, is slated to play Ty Simpkins’ (Iron Man 3) older brother in the upcoming installment of the Jurassic Park series, which also stars Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help). Jurassic World, produced by Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Pat Crowley, will be released June 12, 2015. [The Wrap]

• Kate Beckinsale (Total Recall) is set to join Michael Winterbottom’s The Face of an Angel. The Underworld actress will star alongside Daniel Bruhl (The Fifth Estate) and Cara Delevingne (Anna Karenina) in the upcoming drama based on the book Angel Face by Barbie Latza Nadeau. The plot is reminiscent of the story of Amanda Knox, who, along with her boyfriend, was convicted of killing her housemate in Italy. Beckinsale will play a journalist pursuing the case in the book-to-film adaptation. [Deadline]

• The Newsroom‘s Emily Mortimer is the latest actress to join the ensemble cast of Rio, Eu Te Amo. Similar to its predecessors New York, I Love You and Paris, Je T’aime, Rio will be made up of 10 five- to seven-minute shorts set against the city of Rio de Janeiro. Other actors signed on to the project include Rodrigo Santoro (What to Expect When You’re Expecting), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), and Wagner Moura (Elysium). Mortimer’s storyline will follow a wife whose older husband is dying of diabetes and contemplating his mortality. [Variety]

• Newcomer Charlotte Riley (World Without End) will star opposite Chris Hemsworth (Thor: The Dark World) in director Ron Howard‘s In the Heart of the Sea. Riley will play Hemsworth’s pregnant wife Peggy in the upcoming drama. The film tells the story of a crew of men aboard a whaling ship and their struggle to survive for 90 days after the ship gets attacked by a sperm whale. The British-born actress will also be featured alongside Tom Cruise (Oblivion) and Emily Blunt (Looper) in next summer’s Edge of Tomorrow. [Deadline]
