'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' trailer: Star-spangled Avenger returns

The first official trailer for the Captain America sequel just hit the Internet, and whereas 2011’s The First Avenger was a jaunty retro-throwback wartime adventure, The Winter Soldier finds Cap ensconced in the far more confusing modern age. The trailer is very S.H.I.E.L.D.-heavy, with appearances by Nick Fury, Cap’s high-flying new sidekick the Falcon, an important-looking Robert Redford, and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, who apparently spent the year since Avengers developing the world’s most powerful hair straightener.

Cap’s new outfit looks cool, the whole ’70s paranoid-thriller vibe is cool, and there’s a brief peek at the film’s new baddie, whose precise nature is a kinda-spoiler.
