Casting Net: Sandra Bullock eyes the Tupperware story

• Sandra Bullock is circling the role of Brownie Wise in an untitled pic about the rise of Tupperware. Wise was the saleswoman who helped the airtight containers succeed in the ’50s thanks to her innovative “party plan” marketing scheme. The Help‘s Tate Taylor is attached to direct the movie, which will be based on Bob Kealing‘s non-fiction book Tupperware Unsealed. [THR]

• Eddie Redmayne is set to re-team with his Les Misérables director Tom Hooper for The Danish Girl, about the painter Einar Wegener — the first man to have a sex-change operation. The script, penned by Lucinda Coxon, will be based on David Ebershoff‘s 2001 novel about the love story between Wegener and his wife Gerda Gottlieb. [Deadline]

• Robert Pattinson will no longer be interrogating Saddam Hussein in the indie thriller Mission: Blacklist. The Twilight star reportedly dropped out because he wouldn’t have enough time to prepare for the role. [The Wrap]

• Ryan Guzman will play Rio in the Jem and the Holograms movie. The Step Up: Revolution actor tweeted the news earlier. [THR]

• Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph will reportedly voice one of the lead roles in Disney’s Big Hero 6. The animated pic about a robotics genius attempting to save San Fransokyo from destruction is set to hit theaters on Nov. 7. [The Wrap]

• Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black), Jason Schwartzman (Saving Mr. Banks), and Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) have boarded The Overnight. Plot details are being kept under wraps for the Patrick Brice-directed comedy. [The Wrap]

• Analeigh Tipton (Damsels in Distress) is set to star in Viral, a Blumhouse horror pic about an outbreak that causes the infected to grow tentacles and eat humans. Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Paranormal Activity 3 and 4, Catfish) will co-direct [Deadline]

• Andy Garcia will play the “pivotal role” of Dr. Miles Edwards in Max Steel, which will chronicle the origin of the superhero. [The Wrap]

• Michael Mosley (Sirens) is set to play a detective in the action-comedy Don’t Mess With Texas starring Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara as a cop and a prisoner on the run from the law. [Variety]

• Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four) has signed on to join Dwayne Johnson in San Andreas. The Brad Peyton-directed pic follows an ex-Special Ops Firefighter (Johnson) looking for his ex-wife (Carla Gugino) and daughter (Alexandra Daddario) after a devastating earthquake. Gruffudd will play Gugino’s character’s new fiancé. [Deadline]
