An upcoming auction will offer fans of Marilyn Monroe the chance to bid on more than 200 pieces of Monroe history.

Julien’s Auctions will be holding an auction on Dec. 6, opening bidding on a number of the actress’ personal effects. Included among the items are a series of love letters from Monroe’s third husband, Arthur Miller. A letter written to Monroe by Joe DiMaggio he wrote shortly after Monroe announced her plans to divorce him is also among the items up for auction.

Many of the other items are smaller notes and record-keeping items from Monroe’s estate, so for fans looking to complete their collection of celebrities’ doctor prescriptions, the auction should be a goldmine.

Of the more interesting items included, however, is Monroe’s personal copy of a behind-the-scenes film reel from The Misfits, in which Monroe starred with Clark Gable.

This Monroe auction is one in a string of recent celebrity auction opportunities that have popped up. Bruce Springsteen auctioned off his guitar and a lasagna dinner at the 8th annual Stand Up for Heroes event. The guitar John Lennon played while recording “Paperback Writer” is being sold this week, and Madonna’s clothing sold for millions of dollars last week.
