Daniel Craig has surgery to repair knee injury sustained while filming 'Spectre'

James Bond actor Daniel Craig underwent surgery this weekend for an injury he sustained on the set of Spectre, according to the BBC.

“During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury,” a spokeswoman for Eon Productions told the BBC Monday. “He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood.” The minor procedure took place in New York.

Filming began in London in December, with other locations including London, Rome, Mexico and Austria. Eon’s 24th James Bond production first hit a snag in December when a draft of the script was leaked online following the Sony hack.

The latest installment in the 007 series marks Craig’s fourth reprisal as James Bond, in which he’ll face off with evil organization Spectre. The film features Christopher Waltz as Franz Oberhauser—one of Bond’s childhood friends and supposedly an old nemesis—who holds a senior position within Spectre.

Spectre will hit theaters Nov. 6, 2015.
