Ne-Yo, Brandon Flowers honor Frank Sinatra at Tribeca Film Festival concert

An unexpected comination of musicians including Tony Bennett, Ne-Yo, and The Killers’ Brandon Flowers gathered at the Tribeca Film Festival Tuesday night to honor what would have been Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday. The night kicked off with Orange Is the New Black’s Lea Delaria singing “Luck be a Lady” and “Just in Time,” followed by famed tap dancer Savion Glover performing to an instrumental version of “You Make Me Feel So Young.” Sinatra died 17 years ago on May 14.

Ne-Yo performed “I Could Have Danced All Night” with Alice Smith, as well as “The Lady Is a Tramp,” while Flowers put his own spin on “The House I Live In” and “Come Fly With Me.” The night built up to Bennett’s covers of “Without a Song” and “In The Wee Small Hours,” and a finale of “I’ve Got the World on a String” and “New York, New York” from all of the evening’s performers.

“He was my best friend,” Bennett told the audience, per Billboard. “He told everyone I was his favorite singer, and I’ve been sold out ever since.”

Members of the Sinatra family attended the concert, which led up to a screening of a digitally restored version of 1949’s On the Town, starring Sinatra and Gene Kelly.
