'Extant': Get your exclusive first look at the revamped second season

If you’ve never watched Extant, this is what you need to know ahead of the season 2 premiere: Halle Berry plays an astronaut impregnated by an alien and now she’s on the hunt for her offspring. Seriously, that’s it. Because the CBS summer series will see a near-brand new cast in its sophomore run.

Among the new faces include Magic City alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan as J.D. Richter, a cop and bounty hunter who thought he had seen everything until Molly (Berry) enters his life, and Walking Dead’s David Morrissey as General Tobias Shepherd, the head of the Global Security Commission, who is known and respected for making the tough calls of wartime and standing by them even when they are morally ambiguous.
