A$AP Rocky takes a stab at Rita Ora on “Better Things,” one of the track on his latest album, At.Long.Last.A$AP. He raps, “I swear that bitch Rita Ora got a big mouth / Next time I see her might curse the bitch out”—but in a July 2 interview with the Guardian, he apologized for the lyrics.
“The Rita thing was tasteless of me,” he told The Guardian. “[But] I’ve got to stand by it, because I did it. I said it.”
Sway brought up the Ora diss in a May interview with Rocky, where the rapper and Dope actor somewhat defended the track. “What I will say is, I got into a lot of trouble over her at times when I didn’t need to,” Rocky said. “Now if you asked me another question, like maybe I should have muted her name, and maybe I should have, but at the time, that’s how I felt.”
He went on to say he has “nothing against her.” “I don’t want to make it seem like I’m just out here just degrading all women and sh–, and I’m a pig,” he said. “At the end of the day, I’m a man, I’m 26, I have fun, I ain’t perfect. I am what I am. But I’mma be real: If I feel something in private, I’m going to say it in public.”
Rocky took a different approach with The Guardian though, questioning why people care in the first place. “Who gives a f–k about who I’m f–king?” he said. “Nobody really cares. It’s fun to hear, but who really gives a f–k about who Rita Ora’s f–king?”
