Arnold Schwarzenegger knows a thing or two about sequels, what with the release of Terminator Genisys and the upcoming follow-ups to Conan the Destroyer and Twins. But as far as remakes of classic ‘80s Schwarzenegger movies go, there’s one series of sequels he’s found particularly disappointing: Predator.

In a Reddit question-and-answer session after a special preview screening for Terminator Genisys, Schwarzenegger was asked about yet another potential Predator reboot, this time helmed by Shane Black. Schwarzenegger said he’s not involved, adding, “I hope this one will be great,” but he also talked about the pitfalls of making a sequel and why he’s not a fan of any of the Predator follow-ups.

“The sad story is that sometimes studios do a great job at creating sequels, and sometimes they really screw it up bad, and it all has to do with greed,” he told the audience. “They sometimes want to do it really cheap and make as much money as possible, so they don’t hire the right cast or the right director.”

“It’s a stupid move to make, and therefore they lose a lot of movie by doing that,” he added. “So far, no Predator, no matter which one they did after the first one has come out, has been satisfactory to the audience.”

Schwarzenegger also praised original director John McTiernan, calling the first film “one of my favorite movies I’ve done.” There have been four sequels since Schwarzenegger’s original 1990 sci-fi classic, including Predator 2 in 1990, Aliens vs. Predator in 2004, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem in 2007, and Predators in 2010.
