Taylor Kitsch remembers his first (and worst) audition

From playing Tim Riggins, a (drunk) high school football star in Friday Night Lights, to playing Paul Woodrugh, the self-loathing California Patrolman in True Detective — and loads of action heroes and soldiers and in between — Taylor Kitsch has had his fair share of casting calls. But it’s his first that he’ll never forget.

When Kitsch stopped by our New York office, we had give us his (kinda) Greatest Story Ever Told. Kitsch quickly recalled his very first pilot season and specifically, his first audition, which didn’t go exactly as planned.
