After being framed by the Cabal and landing on the FBI’s Most Wanted list alongside Red Reddington (James Spader), The Blacklist’s Liz Keen (Megan Boone) is going to be facing an uphill battle in clearing her name, especially when a dangerous new foe pops up in season 3.

EW has learned exclusively that X-Men: First Class star Edi Gathegi has landed a recurring role on The Blacklist as Mr. Solomon, who essentially handles the dirty work for the Cabal. Unassuming and soft-spoken on the surface, with a hidden (and terrifying) capacity for violence, Mr. Solomon is a monster in gentleman’s clothing.

Gathegi, whose other credits include The Twilight Saga and the TNT drama Proof, will first appear in the season premiere.

The Blacklist will return Thursday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
