The full-length trailer for season 2 of The Leftovers has arrived, and EW has your exclusive first look!

The above sneak peek shows the Garvey family relocating from New York to a small Texas town dubbed Miracle that claims to have had zero Sudden Departures. But what happens when, after the Garveys arrive, one person suddenly vanishes? Clearly some intense drama follows, including the shocking appearance of Patti Levin (Ann Dowd), the leader of the Guilty Remnant in Mapleton who had been presumed dead in season 1. The trailer also introduces the Murphys, the Garvey family’s new next-door neighbors, who will play a key role this season. Showrunner Damon Lindelof has said the new season will have a stronger “narrative engine” compared to the more meditative first season.

The Leftovers returns to HBO on Sunday, Oct. 4.
