Ansel Elgort has been DJing steadily for the past year under his stage name Ansolo, and now he’s moving his side project into the spotlight. Elgort signed a deal with Island Records, EW confirmed Tuesday, and will release his debut single “To Life” with the label on Sept. 18.

Elgort spoke of the news in an interview with Rolling Stone and said, “I went to a few different labels and was playing everyone my music, and Island was really interested in stuff I didn’t think labels would be interested in.” He said they were interested in his “special records” that were less radio-friendly and poppy.

“I am extremely excited to be a part of the Island family,” Elgort said in a statement announcing the news. “As a label, Island has been a tastemaker in industry. They put out music that touches many people but stays unique and fresh at the same time. As Ansolo I want to do something special and unexpected and I know island will be the perfect place to do that.”

Elgort, best known for roles in movies like Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars, has performed as Ansolo at dance festivals Electric Zoo and Ultra, and he’ll kick off his first international tour Sept. 12 in Las Vegas. He’ll make stops at TomorrowWorld in Fairburn, Georgia and Ultra Music Festivals around the world in cities like Taipei, Singapore, and Tokyo.
