At Saturday’s inaugural EW Fest, Aziz Ansari discussed his new Netflix series, Master of None, with EW’s own Dan Snierson — and after the panel, the former Parks and Recreation star chatted about a couple of surprise guests who will appear when the show debuts on Nov. 6.

In an episode titled “The Other Man,” Homeland star Clare Danes and The Americans actor Noah Emmerich play a couple on the rocks. “I end up having an affair with Claire,” Ansari teased. “It gets pretty intense.”

And while Danes and Emmerich don’t often get to flex their funny bones, Ansari said they acquitted themselves quite well on the comedy series. “They’re both so great,” Ansari said.

On Master of None, Ansari plays Dev, an actor struggling with coming-of-age in his 30s. As Ansari said during the EW Fest panel discussion, he was inspired by the work of Richard Linklater, as well as Hal Ashby and Woody Allen, to find the right tone for the show.
